What a week it’s been and it’s only Tuesday night! My professors this year once again blowing me away. For example, tonight I met Dr. Wong. He is perhaps the Holiest man I have ever met. Is gentle in his demeanor yet firm in his convictions. He and his family endured unspeakable persecution from his home country of China. His older brother was a martyr at the age of 10. Dr. Wong has a such a love for scripture and a love for his students that I can’t imagine taking that class with anyone else.It’s also been nice to be back at Chapel. How I have missed hearing amazing men teach the word of God three days a week! Monday was taught by Dr. Mayhue, the Provost at the college. Although he isn’t considered by most people entertaining or engaging I found his message on Psalm 23 challenging and insightful. It was great to be able to sit there and learn as well as study further as he was speaking. I feel like the Holy Spirit brought up some things from that passage that I needed to hear in order to fully grasp what God is going to be doing with me this semester.One final thing I have already grown to love here on campus is the routine. Life during the summer was hectic and complex. I didn’t have a set schedule and every time I tried to set one things got changed and I grew more and more frustrated. Here I know what my schedule is every day and I have been able to already lay down some boundaries with my time that I think will be beneficial. I know that as things get busier I’ll have to adjust but it will be gradual and not abrupt. I know someday I will learn how to deal better in an ever changing environment but at school the routine helps me to keep track of where I am at in the semester as well as where I am at in the process of growth. I feel like being here has made me realize that one major thing I need to take away from these four years is time management skills. This is a safe environment to do that in.That’s all for now… time to get some sleep!
